Yes folks Kanye West’s Glow In The Dark Tour kicks off tonight in Seattle. I personally think it’s going to be the greatest tour of 2008 with N.E.R.D., Rihanna, and Lupe F-ing Fiasco… I can’t wait to go when they come to L.A. Anyways, what better way to get everyone excited for the tour than tons of mp3’s, videos, and pictures.
I am praying an extreme amount that the newly formed Child Rebel Soldier will encore with this song.
Hopefully Kanye will bring Lupe out for “Touch The Sky.” This is one of my favorite Kanye songs, and the set is supposed to be insane looking during this song*.
Next we have “Hey Mama” by Kanye West, but a studio version of the one he performed at the Grammy’s. This will probably be the low point of the show, not because it’s a bad song (in fact it’s fantastic), it will just be so sad.
Our last Kanye choice for tonight is his medley of “Stronger” and “Good Life” on SNL. I’ve seen a few videos of the live version of “Stronger”, and I have a feeling it’s going to be life changing.

Here is a new segment that both me and Tristan will be participating in. We are both making our own posts so you can get the most music and such. So let’s get started.
#5 Life The Great- Back 2 The Future Trilogy (Mediafire)
Life The Great takes us through a tour of the history of hip-hop, with narration and rapping. The beats are fantastic, and while the lyrics may be a little week the beats make up for it. Life The Great sounds like a very intelligent, well spoken man, but his lyrics tend to talk about the same stuff. A great song none the less.
ABX- Can Your Hear My Kids Now
A fantastic mashup by ABX over at the hood internet. This MGMT song is fantastic, but Lil Kim adds something special to it.
#3 Spank Rock (Feat. Santogold and Betty Black)- B-O-O-T-A-Y (Mediafire)
I got this song on vinyl yesterday, and it reminded me how fantastic Spank Rock is. Almost every song of his is about girls, but in no way is it repetitive. I’m so excited to see him at Lollapalooza.
#2 Saul Williams and Trent Reznor- Sunday Bloody Sunday (Mediafire)
A fantastic cover of the U2 song. This song is mostly Trent, but I still love it. I’m praying that Saul will make a guest appearance with NIN at Lollapalooza, just like he has done for most of their tour.
#1 Lupe Fiasco- Paris, Tokyo (Video)
Even if this video wasn’t good, it would still be my number one. But it is a great video. Especially the part with the camel. Yes, there is a camel in the video.

That’s right, this means that Radiohead, Rage Against The Machine, Kanye West, Wilco, The Raconteurs, and Nine Inch Nails will all headline Lollapalooza. Gnarls Barkley, MGMT, The Cool Kids, and Black Kids will join them as well. This is just a tiny amount of the wide range of bands at the summers best festival. The official lineup comes out tomorrow. Oh yeah, he also mentioned that my hero Lupe Fiasco, will be joining this excellent line-up. By then, it will be my fourth time seeing him, all of which have been absolutely spectacular.

From Nah Right comes a great performance of Lupe’s “Dumb It Down.” For all of you poor souls who have never been to a Lupe show in a cozy venue, I would have to say that this is calm Lupe. The way his energy and lyrics seem to explode is ridiculous. Enjoy this video plus a fun bonus.

This Is Ivy League is a new-ish two man band, out of New York. This Is Ivy League can be described as versatile. They play many instruments including drums, bass, guitar, synths, and trumpet. For a two man band, that is pretty impressive. But what seems to be my favorite part of this catchy pop act, is their use of harmonies. Throughout many tracks most vocals are stacked and layered with harmonies. While this may not be the most exciting music it is extremely catchy and smart.
The band has requested that I only put up their one single, so go out and buy their self titled album on their myspace page.

We give it to you first. The very brand new Ye video. This is perhaps my favorite song of Kanye’s new album, and this video is basically a black and white tour of Chicago. Chicago happens to be one of my favorite cities around, so I of course love this video.
The tape is a project conceived by Gabriel Gutierrez (gzabriel), Macklin Casnoff (caz4mack), Tristan Rodman(pistachionut), Asher Kaplan (ashkap), Willie Schube (lupethefiasco) and Henry Kwapis (hKWAP). All songs featured on this blog are for promotional use only. If you dig a track, go out and buy it!
