New Japanther Record

Fun punks Japanther have a new record coming out, and we got some of the deets. Rock ‘N’ Roll Ice Cream will be coming March 2nd, courtesy of Menlo Park Recordings. The new record will be vinyl and digitally only, with an emphasis on two album sides. This can be attributed to the band wanting a great full length, but a record that can also be listened to one half at a time. Says Japanther member Ian Vanek, “Records often feel like exercises in hitting fast forward. With Rock ‘n’ Roll Ice Cream, we wanted a burner from end to end, with the possibility of listening to side two with your morning coffee.” The art for the record was done by Elisabeth Arkhipoff, who’s done art for M83 in the past. Japanther spent nine months of the past year touring, readying up for the new record. Like always with new record releases, we have the first single available for you. “Spread So Thin” is a really fun, fast, two and a half minute track that has Japanther written all over it. Fun harmonies and catchy melodies are all over this track, with the vocals sound like they’re being sung through some kind of rad filter. Check out the song below, as well as the tracklisting. Enjoy!
