Some really cool and interesting news from a really cool and interesting band. Dirty Projectors have announced that at a few upcoming gigs, they’ll be performing the 2005 album, which was inspired by Eagles dude Don Henley. Anyways, in New York on February 19th, and in LA on February 27th, the band will be performing the record in its entirety. I’ll be at the LA show, and it sounds like it’s going to be a memorable night. Along with choosing a few pieces for the philharmonic to play, Longstreth and co. will later join the philharmonic in conjunction with the 15-piece contemporary music ensemble Alarm Will Sound, to re-create The Getty Address, along with some of Bitte Orca. This show sounds absolutely nuts, and I’m so excited. Tickets for the LA show aren’t sold out, but the New York show is.
