Freeway

I can’t remember the last time I posted some good ‘ol rap music, so for that I apologize. Freeway is a Rhymesayers artist, coming from North Philly. Bearded and bald, Freeway makes some heavy hitting jams, and on February 16th he’ll be releasing The Stimulus Package, a new record with Jake One. I wish I knew who Jake One is, but I have no idea. The record’s going to be pretty cool, especially after hearing the laid back but biting first single, “Know What I Mean.” “Know What I Mean” is a track about straight hustling, and for a white kid out of Los Angeles, I could use a few more like these, teaching me about the correct way to slang crack rocks. The words “Know What I Mean” aren’t really relevant to the track, other than the sample which simply sings “You know what I mean.” The track is backed by a fat beat, and a synth line you just wanna cruise to (I have no idea what “cruising” entails). The album’s going to have some pretty cool guest spots on it, including Raekwon, Beanie Segal, and Bun B. In addition to all of this fun stuff, “To support the Stimulus Package, Freeway and Jake One are printing their own money. Each album includes Freeway and Jake One bills with Lyrics and Liner notes on the reverse side and are wrapped around a custom digipak that’s built like a wallet and held together with a treasury style bellyband.” Check out the tracklist below, and download “Know What I Mean” as well.
