Whatever Happened To… Hadouken?

Have you ever called someone an “indie cindy?” You owe a Hadouken a good deal of credit, who coined the term on their song, “That Boy That Girl.” These dudes were on the verge of blowing up in 2007, but it never really happened. The sound is somewhat what you’d expect from a band with their name taken from a secret attack in Street Figther. Everything is loud and raucous, with drums and synthesizers falling everywhere. Their genre could be called “grindie,” a short lived combination of Grime and Indie. There’s a good deal of breakbeat in there too, which makes it largely danceable. To answer the question, “Whatever happened to…” Hadouken are hard at work on their second album. They’ve tweeted that “The(re) are no computer game or pixelly sounds in the entire album.” They just released an EP entitled Mad to hype the release, so look out for that.
