Orange You Glad

Julian Lynch makes the kind of music that is perfect for the end of summer. It’s relaxing, and relatively upbeat. His first full length release, Orange You Glad was just released on Olde English Spelling Bee. Mr. Lynch’s album consists of a wide array of instruments, all played impressively well. Singing is only a minor factor of a few songs, but the spots he chooses to sing are executed wonderfully. Tracks like “Andaza” and “Winterer One” have a nice summery vibe to them, while tracks like “Seed” have a surprisingly psychedelic sound to them. An impressive guitarist and clarinet player, this man displays all of his talents on this great LP.
Although Orange You Glad is his first LP, Julian Lynch has been making music for about 10 years. He’s really started to gain some popularity when the fantastic Underwater Peoples released a compilation with Julian’s “Banana Jam Pt.1″ featured on it. The track is excellent and the compilation is cheap, so do yourself a favor and pick it up here. He has also released a 7″ on Underwater Peoples with his good friend Matt Mondanile, who performs under the alias Ducktails. You’ll start to notice that this is all just one huge collective of guys who love making music. Julian also made a couple of tracks for the Michael Jackson tribute, CHUM ONAH, which I talked about here. So in conclusion, Julian Lynch is a super rad dude who makes awesome music. Download a track from his album below, a track from the Underwater Peoples comp., a track from the Julian Lynch/Ducktails 7″ (along with a rad video), and a track from the Lefse Records Sampler… Yeah, he was a part of that too.
