Deastro

This EP is inspired by Detroit and my friends there who I feel are a light in it. The title of it Grower represents what I feel is growing inside of peoples hearts and minds there. It is about human growth, so sometimes it can be messy or tragic all though I am not going to limit human experience to two adjectives or claim that I know the first thing about it.

-Deastro on the Grower EP.

Deastro is a homegrown Detroit musician. Making music since he was 12, Randolph Chabot is ready to release his full band debut, Moondagger, out June 23rd on Ghostly International. Ghostly is a good fit for Chabot, although his music isn’t what you’d expect from a Detroit techno background. His synthlines are swirly and dizzying, often too complex to process all at once. Much more of a video game soundtrack on steroids than a funky house tune. If you want a taste of Moondagger, he’s released the Grower EP for free via RCRD LBL. Or you can check out his Daytrotter Session. I highly suggest you check it out. He’s also touring the US this month, here are the dates.
