Emily Wells- Juicy

“I love rap music and Vivaldi. Nina Simone and Biggie Smalls make my world go round.”
I recently saw Emily Wells open for The Tallest Man On Earth, and what I saw of her set was excellent. It was so excellent that it prompted me to look more into her as an artist. She’s coming out with a new EP, Dirty, on May 26th. We recently got our copy, and it’s absolutely fantastic. The entire EP is lovely, but her cover of Biggie’s “Juicy” is mindblowing.
Her hauntingly beautiful vocals sing the lyrics over a simple, laid back beat. It’s really, really rad. A bit hard to explain, so here’s a live video and the mp3. Make sure to pick up the EP when it comes out, it’s fantastic. Check her out on Myspace.
Thanks to mashfest.com for the video.

Emily Wells is freakin’ awesome. My favorites are Barrel of a Gun and Symphony 6: Fair Thee Well and the Requiem Mix.
We took the video that you put up there from SXSW. It’d be awesome if you could link to our site mashfest.com for credit
