Guilty Music Monday #53

Oh yes. Today we bring you Cam’ron’s 2002 smash hit “Hey Ma.” How this song has been buried in pop culture is a mystery. If R.Kelly’s “Ignition” and Shaggy’s “Wasn’t Me” are still guilty classics, “Hey Ma” should be right there with them. Exact same criteria. It’s dirty, it’s funny, and it’s catchy.
Here’s a little bit of a lesser known one. At least by title. This riff is everywhere. It originated in a ’90s pop song by Robin S. called “Show Me Love.” Hardwell then did a bootleg mashup of the song with Steve Angello and Laidback Luke’s track “Be.” This song has been all over, and there’s even a re-recorded version now circulating. And if you don’t think this deserves to be on GMM, take a listen and then rethink it.
