Exclusive Download: Super Mash Bros.- Kisses & Thugs
Written by willshoob on Wednesday, 4 of March , 2009 at 10:11 pm
Ladies and gentlemen, we at The Tape proudly present the first single from Super Mash Bros. upcoming album, All About The Scrilions. I consider “Kisses & Thugs” to be their best work yet, and it only gets me excited for their sophomore release, which we can expect “sometime in the near future.” They are as unsure as we are about an exact release date, but as soon as we get more info, you guys will be the first to know.
Following up the success of their first album (which you can download for free at lazerwolf.com), the duo describes themselves as “Girl Talk’s Hot Cousin.” It seems like the mash-up fad is starting to die down, but Super Mash Bros. act as a super fresh respirator (to prolong the lame metaphor) swooping in at just the right time. The Los Angeles duo built off of mash-up pioneer Girl Talk’s success, and found a way to make it their own, which many mash-up artists fail to do. Take their newest single “Kisses & Thugs” for example. They go from David Banner’s super awesome horny hit, “Play” straight into Crazy Town’s “Butterfly.” It’s like my bar mitzvah self and my 10 year-old self decided to meet up and share the “cool” music that they had been listening to. They do a great job of using songs that make you reminisce.
So do yourself a favor and download this track now. You won’t find it anywhere else, nor will you find a track that has so much of your past collide into one, glorious moment.

GirlTalk sucks compared to Super Mash Bros. Seriously, they’re not even in the same league. Instant party.

This is awesome. Takes you back, makes you move, and keeps you entertained the whole way through. Now, that’s a mash up.

there is no comparing super mash bros to milkman or girl talk. in my opinion they just aren’t as creative and don’t know the fundamentals of mashing songs. best mashups go Milkman > Girl Talk > E-603 > DJ Earworm > Super Mash Bros… they’re still young though so maybe they can figure it out soon. I just don’t like how they use all the same samples as the bigger name mashers, it’s pretty annoying if you ask me
