Raekwon (YAY!!!)- Wu Ooh

Written by willshoob on Tuesday, 3 of February , 2009 at 4:26 pm

Raekwon is probably my favorite living Wu-Tang member. It’s a tight race between him and Ghostface. But after leaking this new single, I’m really into Raekwon at the moment. Raekwon’s debut solo album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, is probably the most successful and popular Wu-Tang solo release to date. Raekwon’s second solo album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, has probably been one of the most anticipated hip-hop albums since 2007 or 2008.

“Wu Ooh” features fellow Wu-Tang members Ghostface Killah and Method Man, both of whom add tremendous verses to this song. If you’re wondering why it has taken Raekwon so damn long to release a single (let alone an album), he explains it very nicely in this simple quote. He simply states, “People been wanting this record for the last 10 years, so I gotta make sure that this shit is bulletproof.” If the rest of the album is this good, the wait was/is almost worth it. Granted, the gap between albums has been entirely too long, and I doubt it really takes him 15 years (Only Built 4 Cuban Linx was released in 1994, I believe) to perfect an album, but this single leaves me greatly anticipating the upcoming album release.

This won’t be Raekwons second album, its his fourth. Its just the sequel Linx. This looks to be his best though.
