Guilty Music Monday #50: Oscar Edition

Written by pistachionut on Monday, 23 of February , 2009 at 7:44 pm

Last night’s Oscars were a lot of fun, despite former Kids Choice Awards host Hugh Jackman conducting the ceremony. The songs this year were particularly good, and particularly guilty. A.R. Rahman won for Slumdog’s “Jai Ho” but (in my opinion) Peter Gabriel’s “Down To Earth” from Wall-E deserved the title. Take a listen below and be the judge for yourself. Unfortunately, Gabriel refused to perform last night because they would not give him more than a minute. Then John Legend came on and ruined the song. But whatever.

Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman – Down to Earth

A.R. Rahman – Jai Ho
