Ancient Crux

Ancient Crux is a fantastic project out of Murrieta, California. Travis von Sydow is the brains behind the project, and he did all the instrumentation for his EP, Interracial Coupling. The EP is limited to 150 copies, so if you’re super quick, you cam pick one up here (just scroll down a bit).

I really don’t know how to describe the sound that he creates. It’s really melodic and creative, and a lot different than a lot of stuff I’ve heard in a while. Here’s what he had to say about himself when I asked for a bio:

Haha I’m not very good at these things as I never know what I want to say/what people care to hear haha… but basically:

My name is Travis von Sydow, I’m 19, I’m also in the band Rapid Youth, I live in Murrieta, CA, and I recorded “Interracial Coupling” in my best friend Tyler (Twin Lion)’s bedroom. I play everything on recording and live I am accompanied by Brent Wyman on drums and Tyler Haran on bass/guitar/keyz. I have been playing as Ancient crux for about four months now, and I have a split cassette release with Oiuja coming out in the springtime.
