The Tape

New Saul Williams

Written by willshoob on Saturday, 24 of January , 2009 at 2:15 pm

One of my favorite musicians, Saul Williams, has just released a bunch of new stuff. First, is a free song, entitled “The Government.” This is a politically driven song, obviously in reaction to the huge change in government that just occurred. The song features a driving horn line, and Saul both rapping and speaking… Which is a deadly combination. Along with that you can grab a recorded version of Saul’s fantastic book of poetry, The Dead Emcee Scrolls. Saul collaborated with the Arditti String Quartet, who backs every single one of the 33 tracks. If you buy the whole thing for just $6, you get the accapellas, the instrumentals, and then you also get the regular tracks. You can pick it up here.
