Jackson United

Jackson United are a pop punk “supergroup” hailing from Los Angeles, California. Combining catchy hooks with raw guitar sounds, Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters) has found a nice ground in between mainstream pop and underground punk music. Shiflett recruited Doug Sangalang (Guitar, Screw 32), Joe Sirois (Drums, Mighty Mighty Bosstones), and sometimes brother Scott Shiflett (Face To Face, Bass), but more recently Charlie Ellis, to form what is today, Jackson United. Combining arena ready instrumentation with edgy, unafraid vocals, Jackson United draws comparisons to a musically inclined Greenday. They list their influences as The Clash, The Replacements, New York Dolls, and Kiss. I can definitely see the influence that The Clash plays on the band, as their music is reminiscent of the British rock heroes. Download “21st Century Fight Song” below, and check out the rest of their music at their Myspace.
