Harlem

Harlem are a fantastic band, hailing from Austin, Texas. I’d call them a thrash pop band, mixing dirty, distorted guitars, with nice melodies and some rough sounding vocals as well. They sound a bit like Kings of Leon did on their debut album, mixed with Times New Viking. I consider them in the same “noise-core” genre as No Age, Wavves, Abe Vigoda, etc. They list their one and only influence as Nirvana, the album Nevermind to be exact. Their debut album entitled Free Drugs ;-) was released on Female Fantasy records, and you can purchase it through their Myspace. I highly recommend it. A few of my personal favorites are “South of France”, “Beautiful & Very Smart”, and “Psychedelic Tits”, two of which you can find below. Enjoy!

Great timing! I just grabbed south of France a couple of days ago, but Beautiful &… makes me want to grab the whole album right now!
