Chapman And Brocker

Although self categorized as “pop” on the band’s myspace, brothers Chapman and Brocker Way who make up the aptly titled musical collective “Chapman and Brocker” are far more than generic pop. the duo hail from Los Angeles(Thousand Oaks to be specific) and got their start as composers for film. In fact their first gig was a film spot on their dad’s documentary “Best Hours Of The Day”. From there, the brothers began to experiment with songwriting intended for a band rather than the screen and it seems that their efforts have yielded great results. Chapman and Brocker’s vocal melodies are akin to that of Brian Wilson, Jens Lekman and Rufus Wainwright but the density of their overall sound is reflective of a rich orchestral upbringing. This combination makes for original and varied music. Chapman and Brocker have released a full length entitled “Dance Of The Crazy Man”. Here are a few cuts off of this album.
