Guilty Music Monday #32

Today we have a bit of a mainstream top 40-ish vibe to GMM. Enjoy!

First we have The Killers’ new single, “Human.” This song is a magical synth pop ride through guilty land. Brandon Flowers pisses me off, but this song is so catchy I can’t help it. Thinking back on it, all of Hot Fuss was a guilty pleasure.

Next we have Katy Perry’s next chart topping single, “Hot N Cold.” This song is ridiculously guilty. I listened to it for the first time today, and got embarrassed. The chorus makes me feel like a 10 year old girl…

Third we have an oldie, but a guilty. Paramore burst on to the scene with super catchy single “Misery Business”, that got them played on KROQ at least 5 times a day. Even though the popularity may have faded, it is still not safe to label this song “good.”

Saved for the last song of the evening, we have Rise Against’s “Re-Education Through Labor.” I refer to Rise Against as my angry band, because I can’t really take it seriously. I think the political message is cool and all, but the fact that they are making KROQ choruses kind of pisses me off.
