Sex On Fire Sounds Hot! (Pun Intended)

Written by lupethefiasco on Wednesday, 6 of August , 2008 at 2:53 pm

Kings On Leon just released another single, and this one I like a lot more then Crawl. Crawl was decent, but it sounded similar to everything they’ve done. Sex On Fire isn’t too different, it just has more edge to it, and I like edge. Plus the lyrics are “Your sex is on fire.” What’s not to like?

A fantastic collaboration has been released, the two artists who collaborated I would have never expected. British rapper The Streets has teamed up with the fantastic British band Muse to create a song entitled Who Knows Who. This song is basically The Streets rapping over a walking bass line with crazy guitar effects in the background. The chorus is an epic explosion of sound, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Straight from Aquarium Drunkard comes a She & Him set from the Newport Folk Festival. I am assuming not many people attended, based solely on the fact that it was the same weekend as Lollapalooza.

Surprise… Another MGMT remix. This version of Kids is trying to hard to be a Boys Noize My Moon My Man remix. It’s the normal Kids hook but with a distorted synth, and then the lyrics come in, in a really odd low voice. It’s hard to describe.

This last remix is described as the “Villains Xplosive Remix.” I think that is a perfectly accurate description, for the New Young Pony Club remix. This song is epic, loud, and banging. This is a good remix, but it doesn’t seem very hard to do at all. Most remixes being put out today sound similar, so I figure it can’t be that hard to do.
