Copy and Past(e) #1: Goblin and Justice

Written by pistachionut on Sunday, 10 of February , 2008 at 8:45 am

I’m beginning my new segment, copy and past(e), where I will detail a much listened-to track from the present and the song it samples. For the first post, I’m taking a crack at Justice’s epic “Phantom Pt. 1″ and “Phantom Pt. 2″ which were sampled from Goblin’s “Tenebre.” Goblin are an Italian progressive rock group that did many soundtracks for Dario Argento. In 1982, a reformed band recorded “Tenebre” for Dario Argento’s movie of the same title. In 2007, with their album †, Justice sampled the track. Both parts to the epic “Phantom” use bits and piecies from the funky original.
